Employment Opportunities

One of the most challenging issues facing the department today is the recruitment and hiring of quality staff, particularly for the entry-level corrections officer position. If you or someone you know is interested in a career in Corrections, studying criminal justice, or recently has been honorably discharged from military service and seeking a new career, please contact the Department of Corrections at 215-340-8486 for further information concerning employment opportunities.

Corrections Officer

Corrections officers maintain security and discipline in a county correctional or work release facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  They supervise inmates at work locations within the facility, in housing units, and transport prisoners.  Work as a corrections officer involves regular exposure to unpredictable conditions and occasionally requires physical effort in restraining and subduing prisoners.Corrections Officer Job Requisition Description
